We currently have immediate openings for field survey personnel, being Survey Crew Chiefs and Field Technicians in our Huntersville, NC office. Work primarily involves Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Design/Location Surveys, Construction Layout and As-built Surveys. Both positions are outdoor work environment subjecting the worker to variable climate and environmental conditions. Applicant must be physically mobile with ability to work in and around construction sites, wooded and hilly terrain. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and have ability to carry survey instruments and equipment in remote, rural and urban surroundings. It is anticipated that the majority of the work will be local but out of town travel may be required at times. Local applicants are preferred.

Survey Crew Chiefs

  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years survey experience, with a least one (1) year in responsible charge. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in surveying or a related field will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Strong management and organizational skills.
  • Minimal computer skills with ability to download field data collector files, enter timesheets and prepare reports.
  • The ability to perform and work as a one-person crew utilizing state-of- the-art robotic total stations with field data collector and GPS equipment.
  • Working knowledge of construction layout, cut-sheets and survey calculations, topographic survey, and data collection of survey information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

Field Technicians

  • Entry level position, no minimum experience required but must display an eagerness and willingness to learn.
  • Minimal computer skills with ability to download field data collector files and enter timesheets.
  • Ability to work with and take direction from Survey Crew chief.
  • Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
